Burberry Shuts Down Factory – Luxury brand Burberry shut down its South Wales, England plant amidst protest from workers and locals, who rallied against moving operations abroad. Many feel that the British-based company should keep its manufacturing in Britain. The company is said to be moving manufacturing to China.

Louis Vuitton Takes Stake in Indian Leather Maker – Louis Vuitton Malletier CEO Yves Carcelle said that the company’s luxury goods units wants to buy a minority stake in an Indian leather manufacturer. He denied that it pointed to future outsourcing plans, but did say the company would keep the possibility open for the future. LV already sources fabrics and embroidery from India.

Prada Unveils Limited Edition Cell Phone – Prada has unveiled a limited edition 14-carat gold chocolate brown phone. Only 1,000 units will be available in the Middle East this month and onward.
